Tiles

Now we have a level concrete floor the tile man has started to lay the tiles onto it. To the right in the dark is the utility room where the washing machine will go, a large tank of hot water, and a new doorway. To left will go a staircase to the first floor. Annoyingly the layout forces us to have two staircases and our first floors aren't connected to each other.... And finally straight ahead and then right will be to the loo (see previous picture).

Annoyingly it's all smaller than it should be where it needs to be larger - the utility room is way to small, but then absurdly larger where there is no benefit - the shair case is in a cathedral like space that we're just going to end up heating for no benefit...!

The architect has done a good job as have most of the contractors, but there is a continual tendency to do what they are used to, not what we wanted or needed, and then looks sheepish when we complain. Lots of perfectly good things replaced for no rational reason...!
