A jug to use when sewing?

Today I went to a contemporary textiles  fair at the local Landmark Arts Centre. It had a whole variety of stalls with people selling the items they make. Clothes, pictures and many other products including the blip….on first looking at these jugs etc we thought they looked like squishy felt items . But…they are actually made of pottery, the inside had a smooth glaze but the outside was quite textured. I thought they were very unusual and was tempted to buy one, but resisted! They are made by Sarah Grove who has a studio in Wimbledon. She says on her website that her functional jugs and vases fulfil her love of clay and stitch!

I went with a friend who Is a creative textiles person who goes to classes regularly and unfortunately we were underwhelmed by things on offer. However she did buy some very interesting triangular shaped buttons.

Also on display was the Richmond COVID  quilt which I contributed to and helped to put together, it was on loan from the Museum of Richmond and it had a nice explanation which also credited myself and my friend who constructed the finished article.

A lovely sunny day and lots of activity on the river including a regatta which ended at Kingston rowing Club.
