World Sparrow Day

I'm not sure whether this little guy is aware that today is World Sparrow Day. I received an email today informing me that ... the purpose of this day is to highlight the falling numbers of House Sparrows globally. The reasons for the decline in House Sparrow seem to be diverse, with a combination of fewer insects, fewer breeding sites and disease potentially contributing. It's easy to overlook the big picture if, like us, your garden and local area are blessed with a healthy population of these cheerful chirpers.
