What A Greats Day

We zoomed with our GREAT niece to wish her a Happy 11th Birthday this morning! She was quite pleased with her Old Navy gift card and is already planning a future shopping spree for leggings, long sleeve shirts and sundresses. I think the days of buying her clothes are gone as her 11 year old self prefers to pick out her own clothes now :) • MrsP did it again today spotting a pair of Wood Ducks dabbling in a swampy area along the edge of the river. I was distracted by all the Canada geese and mallards swimming along the shoreline and likely would never have noticed them without her help. What would I do without my MrsP?!? • It was GREAT to see them again after almost three years! They migrate south in September but return for breeding and raising their young. They nest in trees 50’ to 65’ from the ground, preferring trees near or overhanging the water. Believe it not they’re the only North American duck who eat tree nuts and fruit. Their favorite nut is the acorn and they forage in the woods for them :) • I’m so relieved Brittany Griner was finally granted consular access in Russia. She, Trevor Reed and Paul Whelan need to be brought home.
