Today's the day ...................... to be under the spotlight

Two gorgeous little plants to brighten up a shady corner in the garden are the spring squill above - and the one in extras, Anemone blanda 'White Splendour'.

The squills are native to woodlands, subalpine meadows, and seashores throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  They.are such a lovely blue and they look as if they each have their own personal spotlight shining down on them.

The anemones are a cultivated variety of the white ones that are now appearing in shady spots in the wild.  The ones here are in a pot and although they disappear completely once they've finished flowering, they always reappear to delight us in the spring .....................
