Thwarted

I met Sarah for a splendid walk in Wharfedale.  It was a short circular route that took in the Conistone Pie.

It didn't quite go to plan when we attempted to pick up the path that is no longer a designated path and landed us on the opposite site of the field at a locked gate.  However, it took us across some limestone pavement that we would never have explored and was really picturesque. There were plenty of birds and a few butterflies around including, possibly, a distant brimstone.

After looping back (I guess our walk was actually mostly circular in the end), I sat down with Little Dog to rest her legs and Sarah and Titus conquered The Pie.  I still haven't made standing on the top as when we last went, the limestone was soapy wet so we avoided it.  Some day!

We thought it would be very rude not to support local business and headed down for tea and cake at the Kilnsey Cafe and more of an enjoyable natter.

(Spot the paragliders?)
