WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

An Eyeful!

This is son-in-law - Johnnie -sitting at the patio table with the feast reflected in his sun specs.
The extra collage shows a reflection on the kitchen wall when we first arrived yesterday. We couldn’t work out where the red came from but on investigating found it was the brake light from our car.
Lucy was sitting with Granddad while he wrote out a song with chords for her ukulele, she put this stack of old books on the table and told me they were very rare and she must handle them carefully. She was fascinated by the engraved pictures.
I took Bella round the little woodland walk that belongs to the house I saw a stone in the brook that looked a bit like Bella!
We went into Hexham for a wander. I’ve been once before but couldn’t remember how pretty it is. The market was on and we got delicious fruit.
Sabrina bought me a pretty floral neck buff from White Stuff for Mother’s Day.
Sorry for lack of comments I just haven’t time but I have sprinkled stars.
Yesterday’s poem is now there for anyone interested.

Making Memories

It’s lovely to be sharing stories
over glasses of beer and wine,
interviews, new jobs, new journeys
knowing everyone is doing just fine.
Together outdoors in the sunshine,
table laden with all manner of foods,
the jokes, reminiscing, and banter,
the young’uns running wild in the woods.
We’ve avoided speaking of politics,
the cost of living and the war.
While young ears are listening in,
we’ll give them good memories to store.

Thanks all your lovely comments, stars and hearts.
Goodnight :-)X
