Lots of snails

An excellent day. Mostly calm and some sun. (Unlike the prediction!)
Read a very fun book in bed with coffee and breakfast, do some cleaning and organizing, take a walk, and then head for the studio after lunch -Saturday afternoon at the opera - Wagner's Valkyrie. A outdoor break in the middle however as our beach was inundated with high school students from Calgary - they come every year to spend time on a boat and the gulf island beaches - so I went down to see what I could learn. And liked this photo for all the textures - Many different snails in the intertidal zone today - these are producing egg sacks (those pinkish things) like crazy. Have no idea what this is - spme sort of whelk I think, but my book has many pages of them! Other snails had white ribbony eggs sacks. Seaweeds, barnacles and limpets on the sandstone, and lots of broken shells for beach.
Left Brunhilde (at the Met) on her rock surrounded by fire and made a fire in our sauna. So relaxing... Now it's time for dinner -- one more night of quick frozen something with vegie and salad! Tomorrow the first 5 of family arrive....
