Needs some attention

A drive-by blip on the way to the bus stop. It's a long while since I've done Derelict Sunday, and this seemed to fit the bill.

We went to Nerja on the bus to spend some of S's advance for the Catalan translation of his book at Oliva. I realise we first ate here in 2011, when it hadn't been open long and we were alone in the restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime in May. We were alone again today, and greatly outnumbered by the four front-of-house staff, but to be fair we did arrive at 1 pm, very early by Spanish standards. A foursome arrived just as we got to dessert. Anyway, I'm sure they are doing OK -- they've moved to new premises across the square and have over 2,000 reviews on Tripadvisor.

We had the tasting menu with matching wines again; I took photos of the food, but only to record what we had, as it was dimly lit and the photos are all rubbish. Three aperitivos, two starters, fish course, trou normand (actually a spiced red wine foam with mandarin sorbet, garnished with a tiny but incredibly powerful liquorice flower), meat course, dessert, coffee. It was all absolutely delicious, although as often in Spanish restaurants, the fairly ordinary chocolate mousse and ice cream dessert was a bit of a letdown. And the courses are tiny, so we weren't bloated.

A slow dawdle back to the bus stop and home. It's been a fairly dismal day weatherwise, but this kept us entertained for a large chunk of the day, and fit only to slouch and read on the sofa afterwards.
