Interesting day, started with a Scottish founder who relocated to Silicon Valley with his business.  Next we met UK Department of International Trade folks in San Francisco, before heading over to the (very impressive) City Hall where we met with some senior folks from the Mayors Office in the International Room where thy host foreign dignitaries!

Later I had dinner with someone from the bay area who has been helping the company with some strategic thinking.    He had booked a table for us, but called a few minutes before I arrived to say he'd managed to get a walk-in at Tadich's, the oldest continuously operating restaurant in San Francisco (third oldest in the US) and something of an institution.  Apparently it's hard to get a reservation and usually very busy, so this was an opportunity not to be passed up.  Dinner was delicious, and the conversation was inspiring and stimulating (for me - he may have been putting on a brave face!).
