Snow and Rock

The far side of this valley faces the sun and is mostly bare, while this side receives less direct sun and is still full of snow. That describes the skiing here just now. The main slopes are positioned to retain snow and where the slopes face south only the pistes are snowy. I guess a lot of work goes on at night to maintain those sections.
We are learning which slopes turn mushy after lunch and which retain their crispness and try to maximise our time on the latter. The final run of the day, down to just 150 m above our hotel is always slushy.
Another great day with lots of sun!
