Today there have been heavy hail and snow showers but until this evening when we had thunder and lightning the snow didn’t lie.  With the cold freezing temperature the garden and road will probably still be white tomorrow morning until the sun melts it.
This afternoon we watched the six tiny piglets running around chasing each other and trying to climb on some wood.  Perhaps the very young lambs were tired and were more content to lie down.  On this cold night they have woolly coats to keep them warm while the piglets have little sheds with straw and hopefully the insects and butterflies which enjoyed the recent warm days have found a sheltered place to keep warm.
