Den Haag

Longer cycle-trip today, down to Den Haag (The Hague) - weather continues to be absolutely glorious.

1st extra shows one of our many stops on the way into town - 'R' is sitting here within the Haagse Bos, which made for a lovely approach-route to the city centre; 2nd extra shows the Binnenhof, which in essence is the Dutch Parliamentary Estate.

And the main snap is of the Mauritshuis, which has a whole room full of Rembrandt paintings, as well as the famous Vermeer painting of the 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' ...

... but the 3rd extra shows the painting which really stopped me in my tracks - it's the 'Lamentation of Christ' (by Rogier van der Weyden) and dates from 1462: some 560-years old and it really was stunning to see in real-life.
