Mist Rising

One minute I was photographing reflections on a calm lake, the next I watched as mist rolled in across the water. I seldom see mist here, so the conditions must be just right. Today had been quite warm and the water cold, having only recently unfrozen. At first there was only a thin strip along the far shore, then slowly the white of the mist covered the lake.

I kept shooting as I walked, trying out different foregrounds and experimenting where to focus, foreground or background. I tried to keep it soft and the low light helped. I also used negative clarity in processing to soften the foreground further and turned down the vibrance.

I also posted a catch up, Ice Monster, for yesterday.
