Style v Impressionism v Naturalism

I have blipped part of this vase before but thought it looked more impressive set in natural surroundings as it contrasts the Art Deco Style with a more naturalistic environment. The simple curves, lines and blocks of colours so redolent of Art Deco are juxtaposed with the more subtle shapes and colours of nature. I have actually interposed a very blurred impressionistic rendering of the scene as a transition between the vase and the trees in the background mainly because the paddock is looking such a mess at this time of the year. Even the trees themselves are slightly blurred as the f32 aperture I was using did not give such a wide depth of field to get them totally in focusand as I was down to a shutter speed of 1/20sec. and there were 50mph gales blowing so it is no wonder that trees were moving. Those of you who follow my blog will see that 'the most photographed tree in East Lothian' has managed to find its way into the picture.
