Quod oculus meus videt

We planned a walk before a late pub lunch in Brewood.  Although the weather wasn't that promising when we set out it was soon quite sunny and even warm.  We quickly had to reduce the layers to keep comfortable.

This little chap was sitting on the branch as we walked along a track.  We typically notice that robins tend to move along with us as we walk through their territory, so we fully expected it to fly a bit further away to watch our progress.  So it came as a bit of s surprise that it not only stayed on the branch, but also let me photograph it from just a few feet away.  It seemed completely unfazed and even when I reached out my hand it didn't fly off.  We wondered whether it had been 'trained' by other walkers with bird feed, but as we didn't have any it was only supposition.

The walk was about 6 miles and we timed it perfectly for our lunchtime booking.  All in all a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday.
