Wet again

It was wet again, not conducive to walking or cycling. We packed up the van and went to Eyam ( pronounced Eem) to the Museum there which tells the story of the village of Eyam where in the 17th century a tailor received a package of cloth or clothing  from plague ridden London which spread the disease among the population and killed 260 people. Whole families died and it was a tragedy, but the village voluntarily cut itself off from outside visitors so as not to spread the illness further.
The photo is of the plague window in the church.
Extra the 8th century Celtic cross in the churchyard.
On a different note, if any lakes Blippers are interested or know anyone who is , in marshalling for the Windermere marathon on the 22nd of may, help would be appreciated. Money raised  is for Brathay Trust
