Not the day we planned

Today did not go quite to plan. It was Victoria’s first dress fitting for her bridal dress and the plan was for Victoria, her mum and me to go together. Unfortunately Nicola tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. She had a sore throat yesterday, but had tested negative. No one else in the family have tested positive, so far and I have not been near her.

The fitting went well and took an hour. Nicola was able to join us via a mobile phone video call. The staff were excellent, wishing her well, waving and moving the phone around so she could see. She could not hear and see everything, but it was the best we could do.

Victoria and I had lunch, which is today’s picture and then we decided to come home. We had planned a shopping trip so that an outfit could be purchased for Nicola for the hen do, obviously that could not happen.

Again some trains were cancelled, but we got home okay as our train was running on time.
