Cliffs at Del Mar

This afternoon we took Babe to the Del Mar dog beach north of La Jolla. Babe enjoyed running on the beach and into the water until she was attracted by a bird and her hunting instinct kicked in. She was off into the water and could have got into trouble in the current but fortunately was able to get out. After that, it was on with the lead and the rest of her walk had to be conducted under control.

The beach at Del Mar is backed by some pretty impressive cliffs, many coloured and stuffed with thousands of fossils, especially bands of oyster shells.

Earlier we went for a gargantuan Sunday Brunch at Karl Strauss. Here, you could have breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner all in one go together with bottomless mimosas. (or beer) Lots of fish to choose from, superb steak, pork loin, cooked to order omlette, cooked to order noodles and pasta. Lots of deserts as well. And entertainment where a man with a guitar was valiantly playing Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
