Countryside

A grey wet start to the day as I headed off for a sprint cycle class.  Once back home we got all our stuff together for a weekend at our daughter's.  We are looking after our grandson while they go to a wedding on Saturday.

We headed off on the motorway but quickly became stuck in traffic.  It ended up as an hours delay.  By the time we were through we avoided the really dire motorway service station and stopped at the next one.  It seems we weren't the only ones as finding a parking spot was very difficult.  We were wedged between two other cars and stayed inside the car to eat our sandwiches.  No time or inclination for a stroll or a blip.  I took this shot of the passing countryside when we were almost at our daughters house.  It was lovely of course to see them and Lucas has changed enormously.  He was so excited to see us.  He now has a loud voice and is talking most of the time, although we can't always make out what he is saying.  We will have a busy two days ahead of us.
