Male Blackcap

Some sunshine today, but a little cold in the wind and although Dougal has been out he was not out long before returning to our his bed.

Today's picture is of a male Blackcap, sitting on a branch of our Hibiscus shrub. I think his mate is sitting on eggs not far from where this picture was taken although I have not looked.

Two years ago they nested in our honeysuckle shrub right next to the front door, but this year, from their activity, I think they are nesting in a different honeysuckle. From the comings and goings, we also have Great Tits and Blue Tits in our triple sparrow nesting box and a Mallards nest on the edge of our boundary.
