Elgin Cathedral

Oh, we do like a Pictish stone! This one is in Elgin Cathedral, where we spent the morning. So much to see and take in, beautiful stone carvings, interesting graves, the incredible building itself and very informative interpretation boards. Also, a medieval blacksmith explaining his work.and showing us tools he had made. Lottie was ever so patient even though her paws must have been frozen, standing on the cold stone floor for so long.

After lunch we drove down to Randolph's Leap. A deep gorge where not Randolph, but actually an Alistair, leapt across to avoid being killed by Randolph. Terrific, fast flowing water and very steep perilous paths.  Big signs forbidding any wheeled access!
