Empire Roast

Heavy rain to start, which cleared by mid-morning allowing us to get some fresh air on a favourite walk. Still a very strong south-westerly as we headed in that direction made it tough going until reaching some shelter in the woodland; then getting blown back on the return part of our circular route. It was more like a traditional March day than April, although unseasonably warm. We were exhausted by the time we returned home, as much by the heat as the wind!

There was then time to dig over a couple of raised vegetable beds while dinner was cooking. And what a treat - Empire Roast Chicken with Bombay Roast potatoes, courtesy of inspiration from Jamie Oliver's 'Great Britain'. (Apologies for the spilt gravy and uneven place setting - the result of a hastily taken single shot and impatience at getting stuck in - it was delicious, by the way!)
