Shop v garden

This is a new shop being created on the end of our most regularly visited shopping centre. On the end of this row of shops there was a small garden bed. That has been removed so that the new shop could be created, with one garden bush still remaining on the very edge. As shown.

Do we really need more shops and less garden space?
