Best to keep a reasonable distance .....

We could hear the waves breaking before we saw them. The noise certainly encouraged us to walk down the lane to the beach.  
It was windy and just a bit chilly and the beach was almost deserted. Our front window looks on to the pavement so watching passersby is a good indication of weather conditions. Woolly hats, gloves, padded jackets and bowed heads usually means it's cold and a bit too windy.

All is well with my car .... new tyre and steering realigned, just a pity the pot holes will still be there. At least they will be more easily spotted now that I'm not driving in the dark.
