Only connect...

Eben was with us just for this morning, while Josh and Ruth were at a farm planning meeting together.

He was in a really sunny mood. Connect 4 is a current obsession, along with Sudoku. I'm OK with Connect 4, but have never really got to grips with Sudoku.  I did lose our Connect 4  'tournament', 21 games to 15, however. Eben went on to beat Richard four times in a row, much to his delight.  After that we played frisbee in the garden for a bit, until the frisbee sailed over the high garden wall into the school playground next door. I'm sure we'll be able to retrieve it after the holidays.  I'll have to eat some humble pie though, as recently I complained to the school about the increasing number of footballs and other chunky flying items that were landing in our garden, threatening to hit us over the head :-)

After lunch Ruth took Eben over to Jack's house to play with Frieda. E and F get on really well, despite (or because of?) the 3 year age gap.  I went off to Sainsbury's to pick up some vegan mini Easter eggs, knowing that they had a stock of a Swiss make that tastes good (some vegan 'milk' chocolate is disgusting, in my experience).  Ruth, Josh, Jack and all 3 grandkids will be off to Norfolk tomorrow, to spend Easter weekend with their cousins. This means organising a dairy-free Easter Sunday egg hunt, so that Luca can take part without risk. Sainsbury's came up trumps, for that.

We do have news, from Marianna, about her Dad's heart operation this morning. It's 'so far, so good'.  The surgeons have done some repairs to the heart valves, and Giannis has come through it all right, at least for now. Fingers crossed. I still find it amazing that this kind of surgery is possible.
