TreeLink

In November 2020, one of the lockdown periods, Cameraman put together a webpage and sent it to everyone and every local organisation he could think of. He proposed a group to grow, plant and care for trees in the Stirling Council area. About 60 people responded, 20 attended a subsequent online meeting and 12 people formed a steering group. TreeLink Stirling was born and is now about to have its first AGM.

To say that TreeLink has absorbed a chunk of Cameraman's time in the past 18 months would be an understatement. Not just the regular practical work but the administration of establishing a charity, all the negotiation involved with supporting a functional group of trustees, endless phone calls to the donations platform and bank - well you can imagine. Best of all though TreeLink now has a tree nursery, an agreement with the local authority to support the management of some of its woodland and is working to plant more street trees to enhance the urban areas. And it has lots of brilliant volunteers to do the work, grow trees from seed and run the organisation.

Something good which came out of lockdown. Here are TreeLink's leaflets. Anyone who wants to find out more can go to www.treelinkstirling.org

A quiet morning for me followed by a busy afternoon to come and an evening meeting. I had planned to go in person as there will be a nice social element to this meeting but now I'm not so sure. Still coughing, still low in energy. We'll see.
