Abel Tasman Day 2

I am posting  several back blips as we were without internet access for three days. I apologise for not having responded to all the lovely comments from fellow blippers over the past few days. I will catch up as soon as I can.

We were all up and eating breakfast by 7:30am and setting off on the walk by 8:45am. It was another beautiful day but cold first thing. We walked along beautiful bush tracks and golden sand beaches. The sea was a gorgeous aquamarine colour and the sky bright blue. There was birdsong and wonderful silence. It was a long day, with some steady uphill climbs, but we took it slowly and eventually arrived at Torrent Bay Lodge, our accommodation for the night.  We were again treated to a delicious three-course meal and everyone retired early as we were all tired and needed to be up and on the track in good time in the morning. Another enjoyable day.

The main blip and the extra show a selection of photos which were all taken on the day, but collated at time of posting.

There were 7,592 new community cases reported today. The seven-day rolling average of case numbers is 10,169 – last Monday it was 13,218. The number of people in hospital is 640, including 23 people in ICU. Eleven new deaths have been reported.
