Working on the To-Do List

We went walking in the sunshine this morning with the Eastridge Walking Group.  It was a really lovely morning.  Afterwards we had coffee and a chat then went for our third booster shot, which the doctor said was a good idea given that we’re going travelling.  We picked up some fruit at the supermarket while we were meant to be waiting to see if there was a reaction to the booster.  Then we drove to St Heliers to pick up a quiche for a farewell gathering tomorrow night and dropped it off to the girl who’s organising it, who is returning to Australia with her husband.  She’s called it a Farewell and Bugger Off for herself, MrMacD and me.

We went back to my sister’s for lunch then to Botany Town Centre to sort out MrMacD’s credit card, which is due to expire at the end of May.  As we’ll be in the UK then, we thought it would be best to renew it now. It was quite quick and easy to do.  Our next port of call was Travelex to get some cash for when we arrive in the USA.  That took rather a long time, as the cashier was extremely slow and quite disorganised, but we eventually got what we wanted.

We had intended to walk to Botany and back but the skies got very dark just before we set off so we decided it was best to go in the car.  Thank goodness we did because there was a very heavy rain storm and we would have got drenched.

It’s been a good day for marking a few things off the to-do list and I’ve even booked the ferry for us to cross Cook Strait from Wellington to Picton with our car on our way to Oamaru

My sister made an Italian Easter Puff Pastry Pie for supper tonight, which was delicious.  The top two photos show it before the lid went on and after it was cooked.  Bottom left and centre are the before and after photos of a little dessert my sister concocted from the leftover pastry.  The photo at bottom right is the quiche I bought for tomorrow night’s Pot Luck Supper.
