Five

Today is the fifth birthday for Girl. I was woken by the sound of Wife singing happy birthday to her as she wandered into our room and so I sleepily joined in. We had a bit of a birthday breakfast with some garden builder guests arriving in the middle of it and we let Girl open one present from her brother (that she had found under the bed yesterday anyway) before heading out to school.

I dropped her off wearing a birthday girl rosette (her not me) wished her a happy birthday first day back at school day and then headed back home to work until collection time.

Throughout the day I enjoyed seeing the garden progress and even made time to decorate the house for Girl before collecting her complete with birthday sweeties. Once the rest of the family was back in attendance we progressed the unwrapping of the gifts. Girl was very pleased with her birthday gains, as was Boy who loved his non-birthday batman which kept him busy all night caped crusading.
