Wandering......

The thing I enjoy most about an hotel is the breakfast, having a cooked breakfast is a bit of a luxury nowadays.  I had the full Scottish..... Orange juice, then bacon, fried egg, tomato, black pudding, and mushrooms, scrumptious.  With lashings of toast and tea of course.

We had a good trip today, the driver, John Paul (he said his mother had ambitions that he would be Pope), is from Co. Wexford, and he was full of the blarney..... he took us first of all to Ballater, getting a bit lost on the way, but we got there.  There was a strong haar first thing which didn't help him and the satnav didn't work.  However, he played us Clancy Bros. tapes and we all enjoyed singing along......

We had a stop at Ballater, and had coffee and the ubiquitous scone, then we travelled over the Cairnwell, stopping for a little time at the Glenshee Ski Centre, which of course is not in use at present but it was nice to see it.  We once started from there to climb two Munro's, Craig Leacach and Glas Maol, to celebrate the last Munro of a friend, the easiest Munro's you will ever do as they start at a height of 2,000 ft.  Craig Leacach was supposed to be his last, but after we had done it some of us decided it was too good an opportunity to miss so took in Glas Maol (not sure if I have the spelling correct but someone will probably know).

Anyway, we then carried on to Blairgowrie, and had another break there, and a group of us walked along the riverside, just to have a bit of a leg stretch.  One of my photos is taken there.

The main is going over the Cairnwell, and the other extra is the vintage car which the HG was rather keen on......

Another great night of dancing......
