Goldfinches

We have had goldfinches visiting over the last few days, nice to see them again.  I tried hard to get photographs, particularly on the trees rather than at the feeder, but no luck.  This morning, however, they stayed for long enough for me to get a few shots.  

They are one of our most colourful birds, and prevalent in Britain except in Northern Scotland.  Sometimes seen in small flocks, but not today!

A bright although not too sunny day today, and quite pleasant in the garden.  Heading out for a meal tonight with Cali.
