Green Hairstreak Butterfly

A Green Hairstreak, Callophrys rubi, found this afternoon in a known colony in the Lomond Hills, Fife.

The earliest I have seen them there in the past is May 1st in 2019 but maybe that is partly because I can't visit more than once a week and often that coincides with unfavourable cold/wet/windy weather.

Anyway, today, there were at least two individuals about.

There is another capture of the same individual in the 'extras'.  It is possibly a female and may be ovipositing.
