Emergence

Next task on my gardening list - replant the four dahlias in their containers. They have been stored in vermiculite, sitting in our conservatory over the winter. So I took the pots outside, removed the vermiculite, put peat free compost in, and watered. Hopefully they will be OK, I am quite attached to them - the first plants bought after the March 2020 lockdown, from Arley nursery, and they’ve been fab.

Notwithstanding they’ve been kept in totally dry conditions, there are shoots emerging from all four tubers. I took this shot before removing the vermiculite. It is a happy accident that the end result has an abstract quality.
