Brown rat (Rattus Norvegicus)

Oh dearie me. Seen on one of the bird feeders hanging on the plum tree in the corner of the garden. They do say that where there are humans there will also be rats.

Not sure where it came from but on one side we have allotments with geese and chickens and their food which probably attracts rodents.

The other side is a neighbour’s garden which for the last three metres (ten feet) is an absolute mess and wilderness, goodness only knows what’s in there!

I have now brought all the bird feeders indoors and we’re going to see what happens. Unfortunately I’m not sure if it’s a one off so need a plan of attack, or defence. The trouble is I’m a softy.
