Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Variety

There were more Peacock butterflies than anything else today, but as the spring progresses so does the variety of species: Holly Blue, Comma, Orange-tip, Small White and Green-veined White were also about. I searched for Green Hairstreak, but no sign as yet, at least not along Moorside.

A Grey Heron in the depths of the woods, a Roe Deer in the meadow behind Tong Park cricket ground and my first Willow Warbler of the year along Moorside were among my other encounters. Still haven’t seen a swallow.
