Mallard Duck Family, Union Canal

I was heading along the canal after helping a friend with her election campaign when I came across this family of a dozen ducklings being rescued!  Two guys heard them falling out of a tree into a garden.  They climbed over the 6 foot plus wall and scooped up all the ducklings into their shopping bags then deposited them into the canal beside the waiting mum!

This afternoon we saw The Meaning of Zong at the Lyecum.  The quite fabulous play received a 5 star review in the Guardian - very well deserved.  It tells the true story of the 132 enslaved Africans that were thrown overboard  into the Caribbean Sea and murdered in 1782.
