Duffers

Sometimes it happens.. you buy duffers!  These promised much when I bought them on thursday and they looked promisind yesterday.. today they just look like they are going to be in the bin tomorrow.  They didn't open and the rest opened half way to release a delicious smell then went limp.
on the other hand my husband sent his mother a bunch of flowers for Easter arriving last Saturday.. unfortunately she didn't get out of hospital in time and he forgot to check they had arrived (the carer would have looked after them) and only remembered to ask today.  Apparently they have been in a log box (postman must have thought they would be found there).  They are, as of today, in a vase and none the worse for wear... looking beautiful!!!!!
