Transience

Found this leaf skeleton attached to our garden rake in the greenhouse. Transience is one of my favourite subjects, a bit morbid perhaps but there is such beauty in fading, ageing or decaying nature. And much of it can be quite abstract also, if you get close enough. There are countless ways to portray transience abstractly, think  for example of rust or peeling paint. So this coming Thursday as an optional theme for Abstract Thursday I propose the theme 'transience'. The tag will be AT357.

Thanks so much for all the entries last Thursday, many of them 'happy accidents'. I did realise that it's kind of hard to plan for a photographic accident which ends up pleasing you and I don't really ever want to make it hard for you, it was just meant to make you aware that even photo mistakes or even failures can turn out beautiful and you never should stop playing and experimenting because that's how you discover new ways of photographing or editing :-)

Here are 5 special examples of trying out new things/different views/happy accidents/accidental beautiful shots:
Wildstar                fantastic reflections on a vintage car
MaggiePye           long exposure motion blur experiment(s)
davidc                   another long exposure experiment
evolybab               a festive shot through an extra 'lens'
LesleyAlsford       distortion through a prism

Thanks very much for the kind comments and stars for our Easter peper and salt chickens
