Approaching The End Of Philippians

It is the Sunday after Easter and Jesus is still risen, so there is still much that remains to be done to share that joyous truth with our broken, dying world.  We gathered together to join our hearts and voices in congregational praise and worship to God.  Then we were blessed by the worshipful presentation by the choir, orchestra and all the other accompanists of "Raise Your Hands".  Then, Pastor Wes took us back into Philippians 4:15-23 where Paul thanks the church for the support they have sent to him and commends them as the only church he planted to be a participant in the mission to spread the gospel and they did it despite their poverty.  Likewise, we should be good stewards, not only of our finances, but our time and talents to help spread the good news.  God is much more concerned about the spirit in which we share our God-given resources than the numbers we can put up.  We will find that we can't out-give God, that He has promised that if we are faithful and generous in our stewardship of all He has blessed us with, He will supply all our needs-----not our wants, hopes and dreams, but our needs.  Pastor Wes does a wonderful job of explaining all the details, if you watch the Live-stream.  At the end of our service, we were given the opportunity to partner with one of our own.  She has a mission trip planned and paid for, but she is asking us for prayer support over the course of the trip.  We prayed over her for safety, for open hearts and minds, for eyes to see the opportunities to share her faith as they happen around her.  Will you join me in praying for Emily over the next several weeks?
