The fourth man

I had a very boring but worthy bout of ticket-checking for various Folk Weekend workshops in the gloom of the Pitt Rivers this morning until I was liberated to a pub Appalachian session, a series of water-based performances (songs from the canal and two lots of shanties - these are singers in Short Drag Roger) then something new for me: European Bal. I'm so impressed listening to one musician starting a tune, the others all listening intently and gradually joining in as they get it. I wish I had that skill. But some of the bal tunes were quite slow so I borrowed a fiddle from someone playing her nyckelharpa and had a go. If I practised more...

Or for a more committed sort of conditional: if I practise more.
