A Meandering Life...

Middlesbrough

The main image is 8 shots merged using the AvgCamPro app on my phone. I have then added the gent to give some definition to the scene.

It was our first time in Middlesbrough, we visited the Captain Cook Square and surrounding shopping area. The feeling I got was that it has had a prosperous past but is now struggling and is reflected by the number of shops that are closed. Hopefully the change from steel to Free Port will happen sooner than later before a generation is lost.

The encouraging point of the visit is that you can have 3 hours free parking whilst you shop, a policy other councils could follow if they want to see trade back into city centres. After all they don't get rates from closed shops...

Edit: I have added the same image in extras but this time cropped to a square, may be it works better..?
