Le soleil de Normandie

So here ends a week of Blip with no portraits...I got there in the end! The contrast between yesterday's weather and today's is second to none...what a difference a day makes.

After a bit of a panic trying to contact my parents, I finally got them on Skype and heard about their weekend with friends! After that, well, today is the first day of Normandy SUN, and we were not going to waste it. The day was spent by the château, and late evening too...until about 7.30pm, how lucky are we?!

A few interesting fashion choices from the French in terms of summer-wear, but on the whole...acceptable. Was annoyed to find that, similarly to England, a certain type of man will insist on taking his t-shirt off and walking around the street, but bar that a remarkably civilised day! I joined Claire, Becky and Pawel on the hill, and we were joined later by Jason and the gang. Some people managed to turn a shade darker in that one afternoon...alas, not I. I have the curse of English skin...although it doesn't go red until long exposure has occurred in fierce sun, it also does not tan. Oh well, could be worse! So after the sun had dipped behind the buildings; Claire, Becky, Pawel and I headed to Au Bureau for a well-deserved drink - well, sunbathing and socialising is hard work for the best of people!

I'm just going to let the photographs speak for themselves.

The rest of the evening I spent with Julien, we went out for a meal at Dolly's, a drink at The London Café, a walk around the port...what a real gent, and I had such a lovely evening. Makes me more annoyed that I am making more new connaissances when I'm so close to leaving...
