Felix Dennis

Unfortunately Felix passed away in 2014 but has left us with a lasting legacy. In 1996 he planted trees around his home at Dorsington in Warwickshire with the ultimate aim of creating a forest in the Heart of England calling it by that name.

In 2003 it became a charity and now has over 7,000 acres of land and over half of that has been planted plus there are over 600 acres of mature woodland. The intention is to have over 30,000 acres eventually. In March this year the 2 millionth tree was planted!

They also run education programmes for all sorts of things including school partnerships, families with young children, guided walks, mini and young forester groups, and even damsel and dragonfly training to improve our knowledge and understanding of them.

How wonderful all this is and I’m more than happy to donate and be a ‘Friend of the Forest’.
