How nice it was to be at home this morning with time to potter. I listened to the radio , took the compost across plus the recycling to our pen that lies opposite our house and then watered some of the pots with flowers and seedlings .
Such simple tasks that all speak of being at home.
We took it in turns yesterday to play with Arthur and make food so that today would be about catching up with our visiting friend who is pictured in the shot with Dave . She was on her way to the airport and decided to go a day early and stop off here en route. It was just lovely to have time to reconnect and catch up on family news and also on thoughts and viewpoints regarding all aspects of life . Our conversation ranged over many topics.
The sun has shone which adds an instant bright glow to everything .
While I pottered this morning I listened to an interview on Woman’s hour about an author who has recently published a book called “Bittersweet “ her previous book was called “Quiet “
She is called Susan Cain and what she has to say resonated with me and brought to mind several of my blip friends, especially those of us that are “bookish”. Her Ted Talks are definitely worth a listen and here is a quote from her regarding her latest book .
“ I define bittersweetness as the state in which you know, you accept, and you truly inhabit the idea that life is always simultaneously joy and sorrow, it’s light and dark .
