Yet more ceanothus!

After years of failing with certain flowers in our garden we have adopted the policy of looking at what succeeds and planting lots of varieties of said plant.  We therefore have many roses, hardy geraniums and ceanothus of which there are a surprising number of varieties.  This particular one, in the front garden is low growing and provides good ground cover.  These shrubs are also extremely popular with bees and today there were a couple busily working the flowers despite the leaden grey skies and very cold temperatures.  Many thanks to BikerBear for her continued hosting of Flower Friday.
In other news: our friends spent their last full day with us for this stay in the UK and we managed to go out for both lunch and dinner! Lunch was very nice and dinner was delicious!  Tomorrow morning we will say goodbye to them until we meet up next year to set out on our next cruise adventure together
