Orange-tip

I spent much of the morning at the computer re-formatting and updating the Swaddywell NR management plan. After lunch I decided to go and visit Swaddywell for some inspiration, and was pleased to see several of the reserve's key species including my first flowering Man Orchid of the year and my first Grizzled Skipper, as well as a Glow-worm larva, a couple of Great Crested Newts and a pair of Linnets. However, I think this male Orange-tip butterfly was perhaps the smartest creature around, here feeding on the flowers of Bastard-cabbage.
