Egypt

Today we had a trip to Egypt - no, not that one.  This Egypt is a hamlet only 12 miles from Maison MD.  It came into being in the early 1800's to house the workers in the many quarries in the area.  It is unclear as to why the name was chosen - It is suggested that it commemorates the invasion of Egypt by Napoleon in 1798, but no one really knows. The road into Egypt used to be lined by the Walls of Jericho - built from the spoil from the quarries. In 1982 they were declared unsafe and subsequently demolished.
Just down the road you will find Moscow and World's End. No airport  queues and no passports required.
