Moorland Turbines

Midway along the moorland road between Hebden Bridge and Burnley you pass alongside Coal Clough Wind Farm.
Built in 1992 for Scottish Power it is one of the oldest onshore wind farms in England.  Originally it had 24 turbines but in 2014/15 these were demolished and replaced by 8 much larger (110m - 360ft) but more efficient turbines.  These will be operational until at least 2040.
