I had a German pen-friend when I was at school, a friendship that lasted until we both had children and sadly we gradually lost touch. I visited Germany on several occasions and was always surprised and delighted by "things, technology, design" that they had, but we in Scotland didn't.  On a visit to a market during a Bier Fest in Frankfurt, there was a stall that sold only brushes and I was intrigued by this tiny brush.  It is for cleaning the hair out of your hairbrush (and rollers).  I thought "Only the Germans could think of that".
